It is no surprise that fashion labels collaborate with phone manufacturer for a certain special edition mobile phone since we’ve already seen such many times before; but what is actually surprising is that even a company known for its sports equipment also thought of having a phone of its own.
We’re talking about the Puma Phone here, which is manufactured by Sagem, the same developer of several Porsche-branded phones. This is actually a basic handset, which is more likely catered to sports/music inclined individuals.
It is a touchscreened device with GPS, video chat, pedometer, bike/run tracking applications to help you monitor your exercises, step counter, sports news application, stopwatch, interesting music turntable, camera, and instant messaging with PUMA Icon messaging. There’s also a solar panel at the back, called the Solarmeter, which should give 15 minutes of talk time or two hours of music playback “for every hour in the sun.”
This sports and entertainment-focused Puma Phone is said to be available this April in Europe, and there’s still no announcement if they plan to release it in the US.
