It was just about late February when we’ve heard that LG is also planning on making a Windows 7 phone of their own. It was also rumored to be the LG Apollo back then; but now, new leaked information is telling that a certain LG Panther will come as LG’s first Windows 7 smartphone.
We’re actually not sure if we’re talking about just the same devices or if the Apollo and the Panther are completely two different mobile phones. So anyway, it is also said that the LG Panther hits the “second category devices defined by Microsoft” particularly because of its sliding QWERTY keyboard. And if it will indeed meet Microsoft’s Chassis 2 requirements, this should then have 1GHz of processor and WVGA or better screen. This should as well have 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, microUSB and standard 3.5mm headset jack.
We’re still holding on a September release for this LG Windows 7 Phone, whether it is the Apollo or the Panther, since the Windows 7 platform will indeed come out at that time of the year as Microsoft announced it (during holiday, that is).
