If you can still recall, we’ve featured a certain HTC Touch.B or the HTC Rome sometime back in the first week of December. Now, it looks like this device won’t bear any of those names as it is recently unveiled at the CES 2010 carrying the name HTC Smart.
Ironically though, this HTC Smart is not the typical smartphone there is. It is actually a dumbphone that is designed to “define a new category of smartphones for the masses”. This is indeed intended to come with not much groundbreaking features since it is said that the main idea for this is that it should come cheap in pricing.
This uses the Qualcomm Brew platform with HTC Sense UI and it will be running on 300MHz processor with 256MB ROM and 256MB RAM. Other features include 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, 3-megapixel camera with flash, 3.5mm headset jack, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, Bluetooth with A2DP, and a microSD card slot.
This HTC Smart is said to be available only in Europe and in Asia starting this spring for a yet unknown price. But since this will come as an affordable phone, then this should have a competitive price tag.
