It is rumored that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will be offered by O2 in the UK, by Rogers in Canada, by NTT DoCoMo in Japan, and by an unknown carrier in China. Well, it looks like they are not the only carriers to offer it since the smartphone has already appeared over at Vodafone UK’s website under their “coming soon” section.

If this happens, this Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will actually be their first Android smartphone, running on Android 1.6 (or Donut) to be exact. In case you still have no idea yet on what this smartphone has to offer, let me give you a quick overview.

Japan’s largest mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo, has just announced the addition of its very own version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to its lineup. But instead of calling it in its original name, their version will simply be called as the Docomo Smartphone Xperia.

This will most likely have the same features as with Sony Ericsson’s own Xperia X10, though it will only have more RAM of 384MB plus the addition of the POBox Touch 1.0, which is a predictive text input system for Japanese and English. This will also have Docomo’s HSPA network that provides 2.0Mbps upload and 7.2Mbps download speeds.

Just right after the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 was announced for NTT DoCoMo in Japan, it is now said that the Android smartphone will also be making its way to China. Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg said that they have no plans to delay their first ever Android smartphone in China, which is contrary to what Google has done with Motorola and Samsung Android devices.

Google has just delayed the Motorola and Samsung Android devices that are set to release in China “due to an ongoing friction between Google and the government (in China)”. It is then believed that right after this Xperia X10 is released in Japan on April, China…

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has just visited the FCC back in December 2009; and now, Rogers Wireless has announced that it will be the first Canadian and the first North American carrier to offer this Sony Ericsson’s first Android smartphone.

This Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 will indeed be the company’s first Android device and the first to have the new UX interface. Its features are as well interesting and these include 4-inch of WVGA scratch-resistant capacitive touchscreen display, 8.1-megapixel autofocus camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, HSDPA connectivity, and 1GB of internal memory.
