Simple may really be the term that you could describe this Kyocera K003. It is simple yet chic in design, and it also has simple features that make it a decent phone. That said, Kyocera sure did a smart move in naming this device as the Simple Phone.

It has been introduced in Japan just recently, and it is said to pack 2.8-inch widescreen QVGA LCD internal display with 1.4-inch external display, Noise Cancel and Speak Slowly functions, 2-megapixel autofocus camera, voice recognition, built-in pedometer, and microSDHC card slot. Kyocera has presented an EOS Concept Phone at the CTIA Wireless just recently. They may not be the leaders in mobile phone industry but that doesn’t mean they cannot be innovators in introducing new products and concepts such as this.

This handset has tri-fold design just as some wallets fold, but the thing is, it folds into two configurations, which are the portrait mode and the full-on widescreen OLED display. There are even shape-shifting buttons that can become flat when not in use, use of kinetic energy and charges via nano-scale piezoelectric generators.

Sounds too good to be true, but we’ll all have to wait on when this phone will come out…

The Kyocera Laylo M1400 is one of the two phones that the company has just announced a few days back. This is only going to be an entry-level slider as it is actually geared towards making calls and not about anything else.

This would just reveal an alphanumeric keypad on its slide up, and with a 2.2-inch QVGA display which is relatively large enough for a low-ender device. There will only be a VGA camera, Bluetooth, speakerphone, speaker-independent voice recognition, personal organizer, and voice memo recorder, which are indeed not much although decent enough to make of a mobile phone. It will also have support for CDMA connectivity and is complete with…

It also has music-dedicated keys on top of the 2.4-inch QVGA display. This will also have an accelerometer, Bluetooth, MP3 player, email and instant messaging support, voice recognition, and a very low 1.3-megapixel camera. There will also be a microSD card slot that could support up to 8GB of memory.

It is obviously a clamshell phone, measuring only about 0.67 inches in depth, and is very sleek and shiny on the outside along with its colored external display. Opening it would show a small screen at about 1.8 inches with 128 x 160 pixels resolution and 262k colors, and with a large alphanumeric keypad. This will also have a VGA camera, speaker phone,…

The Kyocera NS01 is perhaps built for those who want to easily get a hold of their handsets without having to find it all over their pockets and bags. This is part of KDDI AU mobile carrier’s offering for the coming season.

From the looks of it, you could easily tell that this is an entry-level device. It is in a clamshell style with large keypad that looks from way back. What made this interesting though is the belt on the back which you can hang on your waist as part of your overall fashion sense. This would surely let users be more aware of incoming messages and calls, without having to…
