Alcatel OT-S988W

Alcatel may not be the leader in producing high-end innovative cellular phones, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t create such. In fact, it is very surprising that they managed to come up with a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional-powered device, which they call the OT-S988W.

This device has 528MHz Qualcomm CPU with 256MB ROM and 256MB RAM. It also has the latest there is on most smartphones these days, including a large 3.2-inch touch-screen display with 240 x 400 pixels, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and Bluetooth 2.1. All these are packed in a sleek 110 x 55 x 15.1mm handset dimension and with a weight of 124grams.

This Alcatel OT-S988W will soon be launched in China under China Unicom, although there’s still no word about the pricing and the release date; plus, rumors say that it might also be released in Europe.
