Wal-Mart has been taking drastic measures to clear out their shelves of old models; recently they cut the price of Apple’s iPhone 3g in half, and now the HTC my Touch 3G Slide’s prices, cutting it down from $299 down to $129.99 to go with a 2-year contract.

If you must be refreshed, the HTC my Touch 3G Slide sports an Android 2.1 operating system, an optical track pad, a camera with LED flash and a MicroSD card slot and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. If you’re impressed, better get down to the nearest Wal-Mart and get yourself one HTC my Touch 3G Slide.

The Nokia N8 takes two blows in a single day, first a Chinese version of the N8 is released and now the Altek Leo is unveiled sporting a 14-megapixel camera, beating the N8 down by 2-megapixels; and the N8 hasn’t even been released yet.

Anyway, this limelight belongs to the Altek Leo, so aside from boasting of a 14-megapixel camera, the phone also features LED and Xenon flashes, a 3x optical zoom and a 720p HD video recording capabilities. And while it hasn’t been confirmed, rumors say that the Altek Leo will run on Google’s Android 2.1.

What do you get when your product get leaked month before it get released? A copy-cat version of your product. Perhaps that’s what Nokia learned as they stumble upon the Chinese N8; apparently, folk from over the Great Wall just couldn’t keep the eagerne4ss to get their hands on Nokia’s N8, so they decided to create their own version.

The Chinese N8 sports a camera, although I’m not sure if it’s at the same quality as the original. The phone packs a 3.3” touchscreen display and tons of dubious specifications.

Vodafone UK picks up the Nokia N8 as a part of their mobile phone family, at least according to Vodafone’s very informative website.

If you have forgotten what the heck the N8 is, well it’s just Nokia’s newest creation that boasts of a 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. The phone is also built to make your mobile social networking life easier and more convenient. While the 3.8” AMOLDED capacitive touch screen makes the world a better and more colorful place to see right through your eyes. But oh well, Vodafone isn’t releasing another info, but be sure to check back to them before the end of August this year.

Anyhoo, the said mobile unit is a product of collaboration between Motorola and the leading company in the industry of PTT, Nextel. U.S Cellular makes the weirdly spelled and named Samsung Messager Touch R630 available for $49.95 with a contract.

The phone packs a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2.6-inch touch screen display, a 2-megapixel camera with video recording, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, a 100MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, a music/video player and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Samsung Messager Touch R630 also sports a fun and lively rim and keyboard color. For a change, right?

The Samsung Wave S8500 hits UK and France, and of all the new cell phones that come in to the said locations, I’m not sure why this should make the news.

But anyhoo, the Samsung Wave S8500 if you should be reminded, which I know you should, is the, manufacturer’s first Bada Smartphone. Bada is Samsung’s self developed mobile operating system. The phone packs a 3.3-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display, HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, a 5MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash and a 720p video recording capability and an access to Samsung Bada’s app store which open this coming June.

Wal-Mart makes a move that makes it obvious that they’re getting ready for a new kind of iPhone, a certain kind of iPhone, an iPhone HD model to be exact. From $197, the iPhone 3G went down to a $97 price tag with a two year contract.
